🙌 Rider Spotlight: Mark’s HC100 → first XTERRA
We recently received this email from a former customer doing big things:
Back in 2019 you sold me a mountain bike that allowed me to get back into a sport I hadn’t taken part in for over 10 years.
In the past 6 years, I have had a blast riding in Central Oregon. I went from relearning the sport in 2019 to completing the 2023 HC100 and just this past weekend completed my first Xterra Triathlon.
Just wanted to say thanks for being patient and informative as I got up to speed on all that had changed in those years I wasn’t riding and for providing me with great guidance in picking the right bike. Buying from you guys was a great experience and I often recommend your shop to others.
By the way - I also bought a jersey from you guys which happened to work perfectly with some tri-shorts for the Xterra. One of the volunteers spotted it and said he bought a bike from you guys too.
- Mark Brennan
Wait to go Mark! You inspire us all. Thanks for reaching back out. Keep on charging!
If you have a story about your cycling journey that you would like featured in the newsletter, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Send information to info@blazinsaddleshub.com and we’ll review it.
📺 Must Watch: Dan Schmidt prepares to cycle the world!
Former shop mechanic, Sister High School Alum, and our tech wizard, Dan Schmidt was awarded a Watson Fellowship this last year. The Watson is a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to explore a topic deeply personal to them on a global scale. Since his college graduation in June, Dan has been living in the UK conducting his project The Ecology of Social Technology.
As he prepares to leave London he’s not getting on an airplane. He’s hopping into a saddle. But not just any ordinary saddle. Its a Brompton folding bike. It’s a form factor we don’t see much in the shop, but it’s one of cycling’s most iconic, longest-surviving designs.
Here’s Dan, on a day out in West London, familiarizing himself with this new, alien machine. We look forward to sharing more content from him as his journey throughout Northern Europe, Japan, and potentially Western Africa, commences.
Thanks for rolling through this month’s Roundup. You just got the highlights: upcoming rides and events, shop news, a massive upcoming sale, trail updates, and some community stoke. If something sparked a question, or you’ve got a photo or story to share, hit reply. We love hearing from you.
Ride on,
The Blazin Saddles Crew
