Our apologies in taking our time in getting out last month’s Roundup. November is now over and the riding keeps going! While there is some precipitation in this week’s forecast we’ll see what happens…

Don’t let the earlier sunsets stop you; we’ve got lights to keep you rolling, and gear to keep you toasty and dry.

This month we’re celebrating our newest bike brand partnership, kicking off our 11th annual Holiday Bike Drive, reminding you about some incredible deals, and sharing exciting trail news from across Central Oregon. Let’s roll!

Our amazing tech team is ready to help keep you riding through this extended cycling season. While we’re about 1-2 days out, every repair situation is different, so call us and explain what you need – we want to make sure you can keep riding!

Now’s also the perfect time to think about end-of-season maintenance before you put your bike away. A happy bike is a clean bike! Sealant refresh, suspension service, a good tune-up... we’ll get you sorted.

To schedule an appointment, please call us at 541-719-1213.

Long Sleeve Jerseys Are Here:

Ask and you shall receive! Our long sleeve Blazin Saddles jerseys just arrived. They’re perfect for fall/winter riding!

Great for holiday gifts... but they won’t last long, so don’t delay! Shop now. Call or stop in... we can ship!

Holiday Gift Ideas & Year-End Deals:

We have a bunch of great gift ideas this year for the holidays at a variety of price points. We have some cool new bikes and gear in, still some end-of-season deals on the few remaining demo bikes, and some great year-end closeouts on new bikes!

Kids bikes are going fast... Reserve yours for Christmas – and we can hold onto it so Santa’s surprise isn’t ruined!

Tariff reminder: Due to the tariffs we are facing as an industry, bikes will most likely be more expensive next year than now, so don’t miss out on the deals while they are here!

Riding Indoors:

Whenever Mother Nature decides to flip the snow switch this year trainers are available! Give us a call or come on in to check out our inventory and hear about what we can order in.

Holiday Purchase Bonus!

With a bike purchase, receive:

  • 10% off accessories

  • 2 free Level I tunes (value $95 each) – they don’t expire

  • A custom fit – an hour of 1-on-1 on the trainer

🚴 Orbea Bikes Have Arrived!

We’re thrilled to announce that Blazin Saddles is now officially an Orbea dealer! A couple of bikes have already arrived and more are on the way from Spain.

Check out the Orbea Rise (Ultimate Lightweight E-Bike)

Our friend Nick Gibson recently put the new lightweight Rise through its paces in the heart of the Cascades. In our opinion, this is the best lightweight e-bike on the market and perfect for our local trails – just in time for multiple trails being approved for Class 1 e-bikes in Central Oregon.

Interested in hearing more about Orbea? Come into the shop and check ‘em out!

🎁 11th Annual Holiday Bike Drive

The Blazin Saddles Holiday Bike Drive is BACK for its 11th year!

On November 15th, we started accepting donations of gently used bikes, helmets, and accessories to give local kids a chance to experience the joy of cycling this holiday season.

How it works:

  • Drop off your gently used bikes and gear at our shop

  • We’ll refurbish and tune them up

  • Bikes are distributed to local families in need through community partnerships

Can’t donate a bike? Monetary donations are also welcome and help us cover parts and labor for refurbishments.

Every bike makes a difference. Help us give the gift of cycling this holiday season!

💸 COTA Year-End Fundraising

COTA is in the middle of their biggest fundraiser of the year with a goal to raise $250,000 for trails!

BIG NEWS: The $45,000 matching gift from COTA’s current and former Board of Directors has been EXTENDED! Your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

Why Your Support Matters:

Trails take years of planning and tons of funding before the first shovel hits dirt. It starts with a vision, then comes mapping and environmental assessments. Next comes land manager approval and fundraising. Only then do crews and volunteers get to work shaping the tread, testing the ride, and adjusting for flow and features.

And even after the ribbon-cutting, the work doesn’t stop. Trails are living things. Trees fall, storms wash out berms, jumps need rebuilding... constantly.

As COTA crew leader Lara D’Orvilliers puts it: “The work is never done. Which is awesome, because when you enjoy being out in the woods with your friends, you just find the next spot that needs a bit of love.”

🏔️ McKenzie Pass Closed for the Season

McKenzie Pass (OR 242) is now fully closed for winter.

The east side gates closed on November 6th, marking the start of the full seasonal closure. The west side closed earlier on October 14th.

New this year: The east-side gate has been moved one mile closer to Sisters to provide a safer turnaround area for drivers. The route will remain closed until late spring/early summer.

For recreationalists: The annual closure is a highway closure, not a closure of public lands. Non-vehicle recreational users (skiers, snowshoers, pedestrians) may go beyond the gates at their own risk. There are no services and limited cell coverage, and weather can change rapidly.

🚵 Oregon Timber Trail Updates

OTTA Board Member Joe Miller completed his ride on the Oregon Timber Trail Adventure Route – 11 days, 553 miles, and 42,000+ feet of climbing!

Joe’s last day was no processional stage. The final big climb up to Kingsley Reservoir required huge effort, including several 18% grades. During the descent, his brakes eventually failed, forcing him to quickly improvise just to maintain control.

Once he reached pavement about 40 miles into his ride, it was a relatively easy cruise into downtown Hood River where he finally dipped his front tire into the Columbia River and grabbed a well-earned celebratory beer.

Congrats, Joe!

📺 Must Watch: Dennis Enarson MTBMX

This MTB edit from a BMX legend is packed with insanely cool street moves and one of the biggest enders we’ve ever seen. Enjoy.
